A visitor going through Ahmad Mashadi's curatorial project 100thoughts

Greetings from Shanghai! We are at SH Contemporary at the invitation of Arthub, launching SEARCH (Southeast Asian Art Resource Channel) with a presentation of art books, video screenings from Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand, market overviews and special projects as well as the website at the heart of SEARCH.

Please do visit www.search-art.asia – now live! We hope that this modest gathering of resources will help more people to access information on regional contemporary art, and strengthen existing networks. Do send us links, suggestions and comments and help SEARCH to grow.

We are also working with Arthub presenting two works by F X Harsono – the video and installation of Rewriting the Erased (2009) and his new video work Writing in the Rain. They form a stunning part of Arthub’s NOW Ink special focus presentation for the fair.

WORK II : 10 Malaysian Artists in Singapore with photographs by Tara Sosrowardoyo, presented by Andrewshire Gallery at ION Orchard, Singapore. WORK is an artist-initiated project in collaboration with RogueArt.

TALKING SHOP is an artists’ dialogue open to the public, bringing together current practitioners from Singapore and Malaysia to exchange knowledge and experiences about their working lives. Ian Woo, Salleh Japar, Susie Wong and Ye Shufang will be speaking to Ahmad Zakii Anwar, Jalaini Abu Hassan, Ramlan Abdullah and Yee I-Lann.

We would like to thank all the artists and Tara who has made the effort to come to Singapore for the talk and opening with their friends and families. We would like to thank Andrewshire Gallery for arranging this exhibition and ION Orchard for the cool space. Also, a special thank you to Henri Chen for hosting dinner.
