Narratives in Malaysian Art Volume 3: Infrastructures (BM edition Naratif Seni Rupa Malaysia Jilid 3: Infrastruktur), launched in 2016, examines the development of the structures and systems that support art and art appreciation, capturing some of the history of Malaysia’s art scene over the decades. It also maps key areas of art institutions, artist-run initiatives, the art market, art education as well as art writing and publication.

It includes essays by Syed Ahmad Jamal, Ismail Zain, Nur Hanim Khairuddin, Yeoh Jin Leng, Abdul Halim Hussein, Ooi Kok Chuen, Sarena Abdullah, Zedeck Siew & Sharon Chin; roundtable discussions, interviews with key figures in the art scene, surveys and maps.

Volume 3 was launched together with a supporting Malaysia Art Map, an essential guide to art institutions, art education facilities, artist-run spaces and private galleries in the Klang Valley, Penang and across the country.
